West Union library to offer curbside service

The West Union District Library will begin curbside service Monday, June 1. However, in the interest of public health, the library will continue to have its doors closed to the public.
The library board and director Anita Dolson said they felt it was better to open gradually for safety purposes.
Patrons can call 217-279-3556 and leave requests for materials but need to leave a phone number in their message. Patrons can email requests at wudl1985@yahoo.com. Also, they can request items online through SHARE.
The library will be in touch with the patrons to let them know their requests are ready and plan a time for pick up. Persons can call to let the library know when they will be coming.
Pick up will be at the front of the library. Curbside pickup will be Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon, Tuesdays 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday 2 to 5 p.m.
The library also now offers access to the Cloud Library for its patrons. They can order up to five ebooks at a time.
The app can be downloaded using Apple app store or Google play or from www.yourcloudlibrary.com. Once on the site, patrons should choose Illinois Heartland Library System as their library. They can then browse and choose items. The site will ask for the barcodes on their library cards and their passwords. This is the same way they can request items from SHARE online system.
