Virginia Lee “Jenny” Phillips, 90, Robinson, formerly of Hunt City, passed away on Saturday Oct. 10, 2020 at Ridgeview Care Center in Oblong. She was born in Yale on Jan. 5, 1930 to Guy P. and Nell Harper. On Sept. 22, 1950 she married Orville E. Phillip, who preceded her in death on Aug. 27, 2010.
Jenny was a hairdresser and operated her own beauty shop in Hunt City for 60 years. She was a member of the Hunt City Congregational Christian Church and the Casey High School Class of 1946. She in enjoyed gardening and always canned what she grew. She enjoyed going to church, sewing, and listened to all types of music. She especially enjoyed the time she spent with her family and friends.
She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law Stanley Phillips, Robinson, Bradley and Cathy Phillips, Poway, Calif.; two granddaughters Abby and Peter Gerba, Camp Verde, Ariz. and Amanda and Richard Cline, Irvine, Calif.; step-great grandson Zachery Gerba, Camp Verde, Ariz. She is also survived by a sister and brother-in-law Kathy and Keith McCoy, Robinson. Preceding her is death were her parents, husband, four brothers Kay Harper, Lee Harper, John Harper and Dean Harper, two sisters Dorothy Mallett and Delcie Harper.
It was Virginia’s wish to be cremated with a graveside service to be held at Mound Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family request that expression of sympathy may take the form of a contribution to the Hunt City Congregational Christian Church and may be mailed to Pulliam Funeral Home at P.O.
