Palestine wraps up school year with announcements

Palestine schools have announced the end of the year events and drop offs for the students.
The high school’s original graduation date has been postponed.
The school plans on conducting a formal graduation ceremony at June 27 at 11 a.m.
A special graduation tribute to the Class of 2020 was released on the original graduation day, May 18. The tribute can be found at CUSD #3 Facebook page.
The original date of the eighth grade graduation has been postponed as well. They are planning to have a formal graduation ceremony June 28 at 3 p.m.
The eighth grade graduates also have a tribute to the Class of 2020, which was released on their original graduation day. It can also be found on the school’s Facebook page.
Palestine High School recently held an awards ceremony through Facebook Live.
According to the high school, prom has been indefinitely postponed .
The Behind the Wheel Driver’s Education is also being suspended.
This ceremony included all departmental awards and all scholarships that have been awarded.
Palestine Grade School also released a virtual awards ceremony Tuesday on the school’s Facebook page for all grades Pre-K-8th.
The schools have started a person item pickup for students that have been cleaned out of lockers and placed in bags and labeled with the students names on them.
Students may pick up the bags of belongings at the schools. Second through fourth grades and sophomores may pick up their belongings on May 19. Fifth grade through freshman may pick up on May 20.
High School pick up will be in the student parking lot from 7:30 a.m.- 2:30 p.m. Grade School pick up will be in the front drive and entrance from 7:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Schools will also be collecting all devices and text books belonging to CUSD #3 on those days.
No one will be allowed in the building during the pickup.
Any fees owed for the current school year should be mailed to the appropriate school office or paid on your child’s pickup day. Schools will be notifying all families who owe fees.
Both the IHSA and IESA have cancelled all spring sports due to the school closure. Please return any uniforms you might have been issued.
Plans for the return of the 2020-21 school year is planned for August. The school will inform parents of any and all changes that may occur.
