Joseph R. Wall Jr.


Joseph R. Wall Jr., 79, Vincennes, passed away at 2:36 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2020 at his residence. He was born Oct. 21, 1941 in Vincennes, to Joseph Richard and Kathryn (Tade) Wall Sr. Joe served his country in the Air Force and was a member of the American Legion Post #120 and the V.F.W. in Loogootee. Surviving are his daughters Kathryn A. Wall Mitchell and her husband Tony of Robinson, Lisa Keown and her husband Tracy of Carmel, Gayle Quayle of Nashville, Tenn., and Tamara Chanley and her husband Brian of Vincennes; his grandchildren Jennifer Hill, Brandt Mitchell, Paisley Mitchell, Bayden Keown, Eric Thompson, Erika McMurtrey, Erin Thompson, Connor Fiechter, Jordan Chanley, Sydney Chanley; and her nephews Tony Clark and Sam Clark. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Frankie Clark. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, 2020 at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 until 1 p.m. Friday at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Joseph Wall.
David Patrick Brooks
David Patrick Brooks, 60, Newton, passed away at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2020 at his home. Private family services will be held. In loving memory of David, memorials may be made to the Jasper County Cancer Fund and can be sent to the Brooks Family 9392 North 900th Street, Newton, Illinois 62448. Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton. The obituary can be viewed and condolences left at David was born on May 7, 1960, in Olney, the son of Royal Levi and Catherine Marie “Kay” (Hammond) Brooks. He married Patricia Beals on Oct. 4, 1980, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton. David graduated from Newton Community High School in 1978. In October 1979, he started his career at Norris Electric Cooperative in Newton, and retired after 38 years of service.
He was a volunteer for the Boys Scouts troop #156 and helped with the BSA pinewood derby for several years and even built and donated a new electronic derby track. David is survived by: his wife Patty Brooks of Newton; his children, Ethan (Christine) Brooks of Teutopolis, Ill.; Branda (Joseph) Hardig of Oblong; Richard (Kristin) Brooks of Pompano Beach, Fla.; Cinnamon Glaze of Hueytown, Ala.; Patrick Brooks of Newton;his brother John (Debbie) Brooks of Newton; his sister Linda Klebe of Muscatine, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren. David was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Daisy Brooks, brother Ron Brooks and mother and father-in-law Mary Jane and Harry V. Beals.
