Maroons beat Flora, 51-28, for 1,500th win
Only a select few basketball programs in the state of Illinois can boast they are among the leaders in all-time wins, but Robinson High School can consider themselves among that class.

The Maroons posted their 1,500th win in program history Friday night (Jan. 10), thanks to a 51-28 conquest of Flora in Little Illini Conference action.

Lady Maroons hold off Red Hill, 42-36
A strong finish to the first half was enough - barely - for Robinson High School's girls' basketball team to pick up a win to open play in the Little Illini Conference Tournament Thursday (Jan. 16).

The Lady Maroons broke open a close game late in the first half, then had to stave off a late rally to pick up a 42-36 win over Red Hill in the opening round game of the LIC Tournament in Robinson.

"We had a really good first half, but then we just went away for a while," RHS head coach Sherry Bopp said. "But, the girls found a way to make enough plays at the end and we got the win."

Statesmen snap skid, beat Olney Central, 83-74, in GRAC play
Getting back home was apparently the key to curing what had been ailing Lincoln Trail College's men's basketball team recently.

Following a pair of losses on the road against tough competition to open up the 2020 portion of their schedule, the Statesmen returned home Wednesday (Jan. 15) for another stiff test against rival Olney Central College - who had just recently upset then No. 1-ranked Vincennes University.

The Statesmen were up to the challenge this time, as they held off a late charge and picked up an 83-74 win in the Great Rivers Athletic Conference contest.
