Lady Statesmen take pair from Kaskaskia
Playing at home suited Lincoln Trail College's softball team just fine, as they picked up a pair of conference wins in their first home games of the season (March 15).

The Lady Statesmen downed Kaskaskia College 12-5 in the first game of their Great Rivers Athletic Conference doubleheader, then won the nightcap 5-2.

Lady Maroons dump Mt. Carmel, 8-1
A strong start lifted Robinson High School's softball team to a win in their season opener Thursday (March 15).

The Lady Maroons held a three-run lead after one inning, then tacked on runs in the middle innings to pull away for an 8-1 victory over Mt. Carmel in a non-conference contest.

A rough start was too much for Lincoln Trail College's baseball team to overcome Thursday afternoon (March 15).

The Statesmen fell behind early and never recovered in an 8-2 loss at Wabash Valley to open their Great Rivers Athletic Conference series.

Maroons hammer Red Hill in opener, 13-2
Near-freezing temperatures were no match for the hot bats of Robinson High School's baseball team Tuesday afternoon (March 13).

The Maroons came out swinging despite winter-like conditions that included snow flurries on and off during the game and rolled to a 13-2 win over Red Hill in the season opener for both teams.

Lady Statesmen drop pair of games at Lake Land to open GRAC play
Tables were turned on Lincoln Trail College's softball team Monday.

After winning eight games in Myrtle Beach where they outscored their opponents 78-16, the Lady Statesmen gave up 20 runs and scored just one on their way to being swept by Lake Land College in a Great Rivers Athletic Conference doubleheader Monday (March 12).

Lincoln Trail dropped game one 10-0, then fell in game two, 10-1. Both games were stopped after five innings due to the mercy rule.

Robinson's Sandschafer earns all-state honors
One Robinson High School basketball player earned a few more accolades at the state level over the weekend.

RHS senior Walker Sandschafer receive a pair of all-state honors, as he was named Fourth Team All-State by the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association and Honorable Mention by the Associated Press.

Panthers struggle in season-opening loss to Cisne, 8-1, at EC tourney
Bats were as cold as the conditions outside for Oblong High School's baseball team in their season opener Monday (March 12).

The Panthers managed just two hits, but the game was scoreless until a couple of big innings late did them in in an 8-1 loss to Cisne in the opening game of the Edwards County Classic in Albion.

Lady Statesmen complete perfect trip
Lincoln Trail College's softball team completed a perfect road trip with two more wins Friday morning (March 9).

The Lady Statesmen went 8-0 on their spring trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., after they finished their final day at the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic with wins over Frederick (Md.) Community College (15-3) and College of Lake County (2-0).

The Statesmen dropped their Great Rivers Athletic Conference opener to Southeastern Illinois Friday (7-3), then split Saturday's doubleheader, winning game one 3-2 and losing game two 2-1.
