Maroons outslug Tigers for 24-10 win
Balls were flying over the fence in Hutsonville like the wind was blowing out at Wrigley Field and the score reflected that in Wednesday (April 11)'s non-conference game between Crawford County foes.

Robinson and Hutsonville-Palestine combined to hit seven home runs and put 34 runs on the board, but the visiting Maroons got the better end of things, slugging five of those home runs on their way to a 24-10 victory.

Statesmen pick up 10-6 win at SWIC
One big inning gave Lincoln Trail College's baseball team the cushion they would need to win their Great Rivers Athletic Conference series with Southwestern Illinois College.

After splitting a doubleheader in Robinson Tuesday (April 10), the Statesmen outslugged SWIC for a 10-6 victory in the series finale in Belleville Wednesday (April 11).

Lady Panthers cruise to 11-0 win over Heritage in LOVC SE play
Another strong effort resulted in another lopsided win for Oblong High School's softball team Wednesday (April 11).

The Lady Panthers remained perfect on the season and in conference play with an 11-0 win at Heritage in Little Okaw Valley Conference Southeast Division play.

Early miscues put Oblong High School's baseball team in a hole they could not climb out of Wednesday (April 11).

The Panthers struggled to field the ball and throw strikes at the outset and the end result was an 18-2 loss at Neoga in non-conference play.

Lady Statesmen swept by Rend Lake
Recent struggles continued for Lincoln Trail College's softball team Wednesday (April 11), as they were swept in a doubleheader for the second straight day by the same team.

After losing their Great Rivers Athletic Conference twinbill at Rend Lake Tuesday, the Lady Statesmen hosted Rend Lake for a make-up double-dip. Unfortunately, the outcome was similar, with LTC dropping game one 6-1 and game two 15-8.

RHS boys 1st, Pal-Hut 2nd in 4-team meet
Strong efforts by a pair of county teams netted them first and second-place finishes in a four-team meet at the Robinson High School track Tuesday (April 10).

Robinson's boys won 12 events on their way to winning the meet with 128 points, while Palestine-Hutsonville won three events and scored 52 points to finish second. Olney came in third with 37 points, followed by Newton with 28.

Two one-run games resulted in a split for Lincoln Trail College's baseball team in their Great Rivers Athletic Conference doubleheader with Southwestern Illinois Tuesday (April 10).

The Statesmen picked up a 4-3 win in game one, then dropped game two in 10 innings, 7-6.

A tight game got away from Robinson High School's baseball team late, as the Maroons saw their three-game winning streak snap at the hands of Teutopolis in a 5-1 loss in the non-conference contest at Robinson City Park Tuesday (April 10).

Hutsonville-Palestine baseball drops slugfest to Lawrenceville, 13-11
The offense stayed hot for Hutsonville-Palestine's baseball team Tuesday (April 10), but their opponent's bats were just a bit hotter.

After scoring 16 runs in their first win of the season Monday, the Tigers cracked double digits again, only to fall short to Lawrenceville, 13-11, in a non-conference contest.

It was another rough day on the diamond for Robinson High School's softball team Tuesday (April 10).

A day after a disappointing loss to Red Hill in conference play, the Lady Maroons stepped out of conference and took one on the chin, dropping an 11-1 decision to North Central, Ind.
