Lady Panthers fall to Casey-Westfield in title game, 2-1, in nine innings
Two area softball heavyweights did battle on the diamond Saturday and seven innings was not enough to determine a winner.

Unfortunately for Oblong High School's softball team came out on the short end, dropping a 2-1 decision to Casey-Westfield in nine innings in the championship game of the IHSA Class 1A Casey-Westfield Regional.

"It was a war," OHS head coach Galen Slover said. "We had a great crowd and it was a tremendous atmosphere to coach and play in. It was everything I expected, but I also expected to win. The kids battled and made a tremendous amount of good plays. They left it all out there. I just wish it would have went in the other direction."
