The season started a bit rough for Lincoln Trail College's baseball team, as they dropped all three of their games over the weekend in Georgia.

The Statesmen dropped both games of a doubleheader with Chattanooga State Community College Friday, 16-3 and 8-0, then lost to a team from Korea on Saturday, 6-2.

In game one Friday, LTC fell behind early, giving up five runs in the first, four in the second and four more in the third for a 13-0 deficit. The Statesmen got on the board with three runs in the fourth, but gave three right back in the bottom of the inning.

The game was stopped after five innings due to the 10-run rule.

Noah Reed led LTC at the plate with a double and a run scored, while John Teolis singled, knocked in a run and scored a run. Michael Hall and Jeron Williams added a double apiece, T.J. Janahashi drove in a run and John Kehoe and Bryce Borton each scored a run.

Hayden Wynja took the loss on the mound, allowing five runs on three hits and four walks in an inning of work. Cameron Adams gave up seven runs on three hits, walked five and struck out one in one and one-third innings and Evan Newman allowed four runs on four hits and two walks in one and two-thirds innings.

In game two, LTC again fell behind early, giving up six runs in the first, then allowing single runs in the second and fifth.

Blake Mial led LTC at the plate with two singles, while Blake Barrett added a double and Kehoe singled.

Casey Bargo suffered the loss on the mound, allowing seven runs (two earned) on five hits, while walking four and striking out four in two innings. Zach Davidson gave up a run on two hits, walked two and struck out three in three innings and Corey Hall walked one in a scoreless frame.

On Saturday, LTC jumped out to an early lead with two runs in the first, but Korea scored a run each in the second, third and fourth, then plated three in the seventh to pull away for the win.

Reed led the LTC offense with a double and a run scored, while Michael Hall singled and knocked in a run, Williams and Andrew Washburn posted two singles apiece and Kehoe scored a run.

Keegan Gagliardo was tagged with the loss in relief, allowing two runs on three hits with one walk and one strikeout in three innings. Mitchell Spencer started and went two innings, giving up a run on one hit with three walks and three strikeouts. Jackson Meter allowed three runs on two hits, walked two and struck out three in one and two-thirds innings, Adam Kopff struck out three in one and one-third innings and Austin Taylor walked two and struck out two in a scoreless frame.
