RHS wrestlers lose at Mt. Carmel
Sports Editor

It was a rough night on the mats for Robinson High School's wrestling team Wednesday, as they dropped a dual match on the road.

The short-handed Maroons - who were missing several of their regulars from the line-up - managed just four wins and two of those came via forfeit, en route to a 59-24 loss at Mt. Carmel.

Robinson got pinfall victories from Roger Cornwell III at 220 and Ethan Bowden at 195, while Jeff Hermann and Paul Benton picked up forfeit wins at 152 and 170, respectively. On the other hand, the Maroons were defeated in eight matches, including seven via pin, while also giving up a pair of forfeits.

Robinson (17-10) will close out the regular season when they host the Eastern Illinois Tournament Saturday at 9 a.m. The Maroons are also the host for the IHSA Class 1A Regional next weekend.
