When you get to the postseason, every match is tough and Robinson High School's volleyball team ran into a tough matchup Tuesday night (Oct. 29).
The Lady Maroons were unable to duplicate Monday night's magic, as they lost to Shelbyville in the semifinals of the IHSA Class 2A Robinson Regional in two sets, 9-25, 13-25.
Andrea McKeighan led RHS with three points and one dig, while Livia Smith posted two points with one ace, eight digs and two kills, Katrina Ramsey contributed two points with one ace and one dig, Bri Robb netted one point with one ace and three digs and Emma Bailey recorded four digs and three assists.
Robinson ended its season with an 18-14 record.
"I am so proud of the season we had," RHS head coach Eric Dean said. "We struggled some down the stretch, but that doesn't take away from the improvements that these girls made and bright futures they have ahead of them. We have great kids and great parents in this program and I am proud of each and every one."
In Tuesday's first semifinal, top-seeded Newton defeated eighth-seeded Marshall in two sets, 25-19, 25-13.
