Solid individual efforts led to decent results for Robinson High School's cross country teams at the Peoria Heights Patriot Invitational Saturday (Oct. 19).

The RHS runners all ran well on the course at Detweiller Park, which is the home to the state meet. The boys' team came in 11th out of 41 full teams in the event, while the girls' team came in 23rd out of 31.

"We ran well," RHS head coach Tony Cork said. "Half of our runners had career or season-best times and most of the others were close."

In the boys' race, Robinson - who is still without top runner Negus Bogard due to an injury - totaled 325 points to finish just outside the top-10. Monticello easily won the meet with 55 points, while Elmwood-Brimfield (106), Glen Carbon Father McGivney (212), St Joseph-Ogden (213), Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond (233), Paxton-Buckley-Loda (263), Chillicothe Illinois Valley Central (269), Georgetown Notre Dame de la Salette Academy (274), Athens (292) and Macomb (315) rounded out the top-10.

Koty Amdahl led RHS with a 31st-place finish out of 326 runners with a time of 16:35, while Maverick Wright finished 44th in 16:51 and Parker Middleton came in 47th in 16:54. Also scoring were Cameron Shew in 101st (17:41) and Evan Ferris in 158th (18:25).

Individual winner was Noah McIntyre of Athens with a time of 15:04.

In the girls' race, Robinson ended up with 506 points, placing them ahead of a handful of teams in the field. Monticello easily won the meet with 31 points, followed by Tolono Unity (52) and St. Joseph-Ogden (70). Elmwood-Brimfield (164), Chillicothe Illinois Valley Central (307), Macomb (323), Beecher (353), Shelbyville (361), Princeton (373) and Toulon Stark County (378) rounded out the top-10.

Top finisher for RHS - who had just five runners due to the girls' tennis Sectional and other conflicts - was Leighanna Hamilton in 53rd out of 253 runners with a time of 20:42, while Macy Sutfin finished 103rd in 21:59. Also scoring for the Lady Maroons were Madi Staley in 114th (22:15), Marley McKee in 177th (24:31) and Paige Kelly in 199th (25:18).

Individual champion was Monticello's Mabry Bruhn with a time of 17:29.
