Solid efforts up and down the line-up helped Robinson High School's boys' track team pick up a win in a four-team meet Tuesday (April 2) at the RHS track.
The Maroons picked up wins in eight events on their way to totaling 106 points. Cumberland was a distant second with 67 points, followed by Palestine-Hutsonville (60) and Oblong (13).
Leading the way for RHS was Grayson Wolf, as he finished first in three events. Wolf took top honors in the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.47, the triple jump with a distance of 37-10 and the shot put with a throw of 40-7. Negus Bogard won a pair of events, taking first in the 800 in 2:12.34 and the 1600 in 5:00, while also winning were the 800 relay team of Trent Rodgers, Tyler Beard, Jordan Peternal and Mitch Mitchell in 1:43.22, the 1600 relay team of J.D Caballero, Trayton Tragesser, Wyatt Bonnell and Zach Buttolph in 3:57.95 and the 3200 relay team of Tragesser, Carter Shew, Parker Middleton and Maverick Wright in 9:29.83.
Robinson also had numerous second-place finishes, including Landon Roy in the high jump (5-10) and long jump (19-5.5), Jake Servison in the 400 (1:01.62), Bonnell in the 800 (2:16.29), Koty Amdahl in the 3200 (10:58.67), Clayton Roach in the discus (116-8), Trevor Hill in the shot put (35-5) and Peternal in the triple jump (36-4).
For Palestine-Hutsonville, winners included Nick Booth in the 100 (11.31), 200 (23.66) and long jump (19-6.5), Chase Knoblett in the 300 hurdles (45.82) and high jump (5-10) and the 400 relay team of Booth, Colton Hayes, Blaize Dedrick and Knoblett (46.11), while second-place finishers were Knoblett in the 110 hurdles (15.52), Dedrick in the 100 (11.66) and the 800 relay team of Hayes, Dedrick, Daylon Nantz and Travis Rinard (1:43.81).
Scoring for Oblong were Garrett Tracy in third in the high jump (5-4) and fourth in the triple jump (32-8), Tristan Sablone in third in the shot put (33-0) and fourth in the discus (91-6) and Dalton Jayne in third in the 400 (1:05.09).
