For the first time all season, Robinson High School's girls' basketball team finds itself in the midst of a winning streak.
The Lady Maroons have put together consecutive wins for the first time this year, as they followed up Thursday's 49-47 win at Red Hill with a 52-43 win at Dieterich Monday (Jan. 28) in a non-conference contest.
Robinson trailed for much of the game until a huge fourth quarter put them over the top. The Lady Maroons trailed 15-13 after one quarter and 28-24 at halftime, then saw the margin grow to 39-33 after three quarters. However, RHS outscored Dieterich 19-4 in the final period to score the come-from-behind victory.
Ella Florkowski led RHS with 19 points, while Lauren Weber was right behind with 17, Jaedyn Johnson tossed in 11 and Bailey Strauch netted five.
Jennifer Robards led Dieterich with 22 points, including six three-pointers, while no other player scored more than seven.
In the junior varsity game, Robinson came out on the short end of a 46-31 decision.
Strauch and Lucy List shared scoring honors for RHS with 12 points apiece.
