It was a rough weekend on the water for Robinson High School's bass fishing team over the weekend (May 18-19).
The Maroons competed in the IHSA State Finals at Carlyle Lake, but were unable to catch any fish during the two-day event.
Robinson's duo of Kade Lassen and Jason Meeks came up empty on Friday, while Thomas Brown and Meeks suffered the same fate on Saturday. The Maroons were not the only ones to come up empty, as 13 of the 66 teams competing failed to catch even one fish during the tournament.
Pinckneyville claimed the championship, as they hauled in a total of 10 fish over the two days, weighing a total of 17.5 pounds, which was nearly two pounds more than the second-place haul of Farmington, who caught 10 fish weighing 15.7 pounds.
