A lack of offense prevented Robinson High School's softball team from grabbing some postseason hardware Saturday (May 19).
The Lady Maroons hung right with No. 7-ranked Flora throughout the championship game of the IHSA Class 2A Lawrenceville Regional, but could not muster any offense on their way to a 3-0 loss.
Robinson allowed a run in the first, but still trailed only 1-0 until the fourth, when Flora added another run. The Wolfgals would tack on another run in the fifth and was able to hold on for the win.
The Lady Maroons managed just three base runners in the game, although two of them came in the same inning. After Jaedyn Johnson was hit by a pitch with two outs, Katelyn Smith followed with a single to right field, but Johnson was thrown out trying to advance to third to end the inning and the Lady Maroons did not threaten again.
In addition to Smith' single, J.J. Logan provided the only other base hit for the Lady Maroons.
Tess Krause suffered the loss on the mound, allowing three runs, two earned, on seven hits in six innings.
