Lady Panthers fall behind early in 12-4 loss to Casey-Westfield

The Lady Panthers fell behind early and never recovered in a 12-4 loss to Casey-Westfield in a non-conference contest.
Casey-Westfield broke a scoreless tie with a five-run second inning, then each team scored a run in the third to make the score 6-1. Casey-Westfield tacked on a run in the fourth, three more in the sixth and another two in the seventh to extend their advantage to 12-1, while Oblong rallied for three runs in the bottom of the seventh to reach the final margin.
Summer Johnson led OHS at the plate with a double, two singles, a run batted in and a run scored, while Samantha Johnson tripled, singled and scored two runs. Nyah Laino posted a base hit and two runs batted in, Madison Neeley doubled and drove in a run, Abbie Dart singled and scored a run and Aireka Burke and Harley Harrison each added a base hit.
Camryn Travis took the loss on the mound, allowing 12 runs, eight earned, on 17 hits while striking out six in seven innings.
