Maroons roll past Red Hill for 10-0 win
| It wasn't snowing Monday (April 9), but it was still cold, although that didn't seem to bother Robinson High School's baseball team.|
The Maroons continued to swing hot bats and rolled to another double-digit victory, as they blanked Red Hill 10-0 in a Little Illini Conference contest.
Robinson opened the scoring with three runs in the bottom of the first, but the score remained that way until the bottom of the fourth, when the Maroons broke through for five runs to make the score 8-0. Robinson then ended the game in the bottom of the fifth, when Lance Wesner's two-run home run kicked the 10-run rule into effect.
Landon Roy led the RHS offense with a home run, two singles, three runs batted in and two runs scored, while Wesner homered, singled, drove in two runs and scored twice. Ethan Williams doubled, knocked in two runs and scored a run, Parker Johnson doubled, singled and drove in a run, Kade Lassen posted a base hit and two runs scored, Chase Johnson and Noah Davis added a base hit apiece, Brayden Childress knocked in a run and scored a run and Logan Sexton and Alex Hermann each scored a run.
Davis earned the win on the mound, tossing a complete-game one-hitter. He also walked four batters and struck out five in five innings of work.
