Coming off a decent showing over the weekend, Robinson High School's boys' tennis team put together an impressive effort Monday (April 9) with a 9-0 whipping of Casey-Westfield.
Robinson won all of their matches in two sets and lost no more than six games in any match.
"We played much better today," RHS head coach Tom Buchanan said. "Saturday's tournament gave us a few areas to improve. In singles, we did a much better job attacking and getting to the net. We had been hitting too many volleys back to the middle. Tonight we started to hit better angles."
Contributing to the dominating performance with wins in singles were Kaden Buchanan, Josh Rosborough, Brendan Inboden, Lukas Baird, Lucas Blunier and Preston Ireland, while winning in doubles were the teams of Buchanan and Rosborough, Blunier and Will Hawkins and Jeff Hermann and Ely Parker.
Four junior varsity doubles matches were also played, with Robinson winning just one. The duo of Trayton Tragesser and Matthew Jenkins were able to pick up that win for the Maroons.
Doubles - Trayton Tragesser-Matthew Jenkins (R) def. Roester-Dallape (CW) 6-2; Tragesser-Jenkins (R) lost to Richardson-Livingston (CW) 5-7; Ian Quick-Larry Lang (R) lost to Richardson-Livingston (CW) 2-6; Sam Quick-Connor Mikeworth (R) lost to Roester-Dallape (CW) 4-6.
