Strong play throughout the first three quarters helped Lincoln Trail College's women's basketball team get back in the win column Monday (Dec. 4).

The Lady Statesmen stepped out of conference and were able to snap a four-game losing skid with a 66-48 victory at Lindenwood-Belleville JV.

Lincoln Trail held a 23-17 edge after one quarter and extended its advantage to 37-27 at halftime. The Lady Statesmen put the game out of reach in the third quarter, outscoring Lindenwood-Belleville JV 18-4 to make the score 55-31 heading into the final period. Lindenwood-Belleville JV won the fourth quarter 17-11, but it was too little, too late.

Bre Spalding led LTC with 15 points, while Taylor Bradley and Shamarrhea Young also reached double figures with 12 and 11 points, respectively. Kaitlyn Howe tossed in nine points, Alexis McDowell scored eight, Robinson High School graduate Josie Goff netted four, Mykiah Jones recorded three, Jamesha Pritchard added two and Kiana Wininger and Kaitlin Adams each had one.

Lindenwood-Belleville JV's Katerra Sharp led all scorers with 21 points, but was the only one to reach double digits.
