Tigers hammered by Marshall, 79-29

It was another rough night on the court for Hutsonville-Palestine's boys' basketball team Friday night (Dec. 1).

The Tigers struggled to get much of anything going on either end of the floor en route to a 79-29 loss at Marshall in non-conference action.

Hutsonville-Palestine fell behind 15-4 after one quarter of play, then was outscored 21-6 in the second quarter for a 36-10 halftime deficit. The Tigers picked it up offensively in the third quarter, but were still outscored 19-13 to make the score 55-23 heading into the final period. Marshall then outscored Hutsonville-Palestine 24-6 to reach the final totals.

Isaac York was the lone player in double figures for Hutsonville-Palestine with 11 points, while Jess Newlin tossed in eight, Jerry Gower and Dylan Salee each scored three and Aaron Nehls and Tylor Thornell netted two points apiece.

Wade Tharp led Marshall with 13 points, while Marcus Downs and Jesse Burdick were also in double figures with 10 points apiece.

Hutsonville-Palestine also lost the junior varsity game, 57-18.

Kegan Cooper led Hutsonville-Palestine with five points, while Will Newlin scored four.
