Limping into the holiday break would be an understatement when talking about the play of Palestine-Hutsonville's girls' basketball team recently.

The Lady Pioneers dropped their fourth game in a row Monday night, as they were hammered on the road by host Dieterich, 56-28, in non-conference action.

A slow start saw Palestine-Hutsonville fall behind 18-9 after one quarter and they never recovered. The Lady Pioneers were outscored 11-5 in the second quarter for a 29-14 halftime deficit, then were outscored 25-14 in the third quarter to make the score 54-28. Dieterich scored the only two points of the fourth quarter to reach the final margin.

Dieterich also made 6-10 free throws (60 percent), while Palestine-Hutsonville made 3-5 foul shots (60 percent).
