History was made recently, when the first all-conference team with athletes from all three Crawford County teams on it was released.
A half-dozen volleyball players from Crawford County were recognized for their performances on the court this fall by being named to the All-Little Illini Conference volleyball teams.
Headlining the list are four players from Robinson, including two first-team selections.
Robinson was represented on the First Team by Madison Bayless and Kylee Hannahs.
Other players on the 12-player first team included Edwards County's Whitney Beck, Kaeli James and Amie Bunting, Newton's Keidrah Hardiek and Morgan Swingler, Casey-Westfield's Lacey Maulding and Karlee Maschoff, Marshall's Ariana Kuhn, Cumberland's Kassidy Hunt and Olney's Elizabeth Zuber.
The only local player on the 12-player Second Team was Robinson's Kari Bopp.
Also on the squad were Riley Messman and Kaitlin Schmittler of Edwards County, Flora's Kaley Himelick, Mylinn Bush-King and Crimson Jones, Newton's Andrea Cartright and Sydney May, Marshall's Kaydie Grooms, Casey-Westfield's Olivia Oakley and Olney's Rachel Wisner.
Three from the county were named to the Honorable Mention Squad - Robinson's Jasmine Brooks, Hutsonville-Palestine's Nicole Kiger and Oblong's Kelsie Harper.
The rest of the honorable mention list included Lawrenceville's Heidi Litherland, Red Hill's Kelsi Perrott, Olney's Christina Bailey, Casey-Westfield's Caroline Cochonour, Marshall's Macy Shaffner, Newton's Cassidy Probst, Flora's Jessica Staley and Cumberland's Olivia Titus.
