Robinson Unit 2 has made changes in how it provides meals to students during the shutdown.
The Lincoln Elementary School pickup site was closed Monday and on Tuesday, Unit 2 began distributing both breakfast and lunch from the Robinson High School and Flat Rock Community Center sites from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. to save families from making two trips.
Superintendent Josh Quick said anyone who has no means of getting to one of the two distribution points, can call 618-804-9971 to request delivery.
"We understand that the change in hours and the elimination of one of the pick-up points may pose a challenge to some families who were previously picking up meals," he said. "We do not want these changes to prevent anyone from receiving meals so please do not hesitate to call the food hotline if you need delivery."
In accordance with new guidelines from the Crawford County Health Department, to minimize person-to-person contact, the person making the delivery will knock or ring the bell and then leave the food at the door.
