Robinson area parents of children between the ages of three and five looking for comprehensive preschool services can sign up for ERBA Head Start next week.
Sign-up for the program is 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, April 18, at the ERBA office, 100 S. Washington, Robinson. Head Start staff members will be on hand to answer questions.
Head Start is a federally-funded preschool program providing free services to children and their families. Head Start helps children develop their skills for kindergarten.
Since the program began in 1965, Head Start has provided educational, parent involvement, social, medical, dental, nutritional, mental health and disability services to more than 32 million low-income children and their families throughout the United States. Also, Head Start reserves 10 percent of its slots for children with disabilities.
The Robinson Head Start center is in session Tuesday through Friday. It serves 16 children from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Meals are provided and transportation is available for most children in the Crawford County area.
Applicants will need to bring up-to-date immunization records, proof of household income, the children's Social Security numbers and birth certificates and birth date information for everyone in their households and Medicaid cards if they have them.
