Fuller wins, then wins again in Palestine awards
McNair, Goodwines also honored at the Chamber of Commerce annual dinner, ceremony.

The Palestine Chamber of Commerce's citizen of the year turned out to be a double winner at Tuesday's awards banquet.

Janice Fuller, the co-owner of The Rocking Horse, was honored as "Citizen of the Year" for her commitment to the village and various organizations within the village.

Fuller is also the Chamber vice president, and was noted for her contributions, which included generous donations to the Palestine Schools band program.

After receiving the award, she was joined by her husband Reese Fuller, the other co-owner of the Rocking Horse, in receiving the Chamber Business Award.

The store has long been a staple of the community and is on the east side of Main Street in Palestine.

The Chamber Member of the Year Award went to Carl McNair. McNair, a lifelong community member, was presented the award for his numerous hours working within the chamber this year.

His son, Luke McNair, the president of the chamber, presented the award and noted his 250 plus hours of service within the chamber this year.

A special was also presented to Scott and Susan Goodwine, who spearheaded the efforts of this year's Chuckwagon Breakfast. A new record of customers served was made at the 2018 event.

Five new members were added to the Pioneer City Hall of Fame. Those named will join numerous others who are remembered forever for their tireless efforts to the community and it's annual events.

This year's inductees included Del Miller, Fred McNair, Bud Leggitt, Rad Burkett and James Clark.
