Paris coach hired for RHS football
Robinson High School has a new head football coach.

The Robinson Unit 2 school board Tuesday hired Casey Pinnell to take the helm of the Robinson Maroons beginning with the 2018-19 season. He will take over for the retiring Tim Nolen.

This will be the Paris native's second head coaching position. Pinnell has worked as head coach for Tri-County in Shiloh for three years. Prior to that, he was an assistant coach at Paris and Danville.

Pinnell will also be the new physical education teacher at Washington Elementary School, another position inherited from Nolen.

Pinnell's employment was approved by a 4-3 vote, with board members Von Meeks, Chad Brown and Bill Sandiford casting "nay" votes.

Hiring a coach was not the only personnel matter on Tuesday's agenda.

Board members also hired Jennifer Snyder as a kindergarten teacher at WES. Kara Mosbey was hired as a WES second grade teacher and Teresa Gower was hired as a Lincoln Elementary School third grade teacher.

Denise Wells was hired as a reading aide at LES, while Alaina Randolph will be a new LES lunchroom supervisor. David Forbes was named as the new head of the Robinson High School math department, taking over for the retiring Cynthia Schrey.

WES pre-kindergarten teacher Kacie Flenniken was approved for a leave of absence from about April 16 to May 24. The retirement of LES head custodian Rick Garrard, effective June 1, was also approved.
