Two more file for precinct committeeman positions
Two more local men have filed to run for precinct committeeman positions.

Douglas R. Slater has filed to run on the Republican ticket in Oblong 3. On the Democrat side, Don Daughterty is running in Robinson 1.

Time is running short for county residents who want to get their names on the ballot for the March 20 primaries. The filing period at the Crawford County Clerk's Office in the county annex building ends at 5 p.m. today.

Local offices to be nominated are county clerk, treasurer, sheriff and county board members. The successful candidates will run in the Nov. 6 general election.Precinct committeemen are elected during primaries.

Others who have filed here include Republicans David Marqua and Joe Snyder for sheriff, Kip Randolph for Crawford County Board Disrict 2, Koert E. Bartman for county board in District 4 and commiteeman in Prairie 2, Fayrene Wright for county clerk and Twyla Bailey for county treasurer

On the Democrat side, Floyd E. Brinkman Jr. has filed to run for sheriff, Charles Weiland is running for Robinson 3 committeeman and John Russell is running for Martin Township committeeman.

Candidates for other than local office need to file their paperwork with the State Board of Elections.
