A Robinson High School graduate and former Annapois 4-Her is the new county 4-H program coordinator.
University of Illinois Extension in Crawford County has recently hired Samantha Crane Gaither to lead the local 4-H effort.
Gaither will have primary responsibility for coordinating the local 4-H program, including working with the Junior Leader program, recruiting and training new volunteers, working with 4-H clubs, and coordinating county-wide 4-H events.
Gaither is very familiar with the Crawford County 4-H program. She was an 11-year member of the Annapolis Pathfinders 4-H Club and involved in showing both general and livestock projects. Gaither also served as a summer intern for the Crawford County Extension office.
She is a graduate of Robinson High School and Southern Illinois University, with a Bachelor of Science degree in agriculture ststems. Gaither started her position in early September and has already been busy working with a variety of 4-H events and activities including the new 4-H shooting sports program.
The Illinois 4-H program offers youth the opportunity to feel a sense of belonging, develop independence, practice generosity and experience mastery.
