1/27/2020 2:07:00 PM Visitor from Florida finds kindness on the square
My name is Clinton Gortney. Along with my wife and family, I often come to the Robinson area to visit my wife's mother, who lives in Oblong. We live in Florida.
A couple of days after Christmas, we were shopping on the square in Robinson and planned to meet at the Mexican restaurant, a favorite of ours. My wife and daughter drove to the restaurant, and I decided to walk there. After all, it was only a block from the Heath store.
On the way, I tripped on the unfinished pavement at the corner and fell. I had a hard time getting up from the pavement. I was assisted by a couple of passers-by, who helped me and assisted me to a bench in front of the antique store on the corner. I then telephoned my daughter, who drove the block to pick me up.
I was really flustered (and frustrated), and in the process, I didn't learn the mens' names. One was a young man; one was older, but younger than me. I just wanted to write to express my appreciation to these two for their kindness.
