3-Vehicle Crash
One person was injured in a three-vehicle accident on Illinois Route 1A near Robinwood Drive Tuesday afternoon. According to Robinson Police, about 2:25 p.m. Jeremiah D. Caballero, 41, Robinson, was stopped northbound on 1A trying to turn left onto Robinwood when a southbound vehicle driven by Walter D. Connor, 85, Robinson, struck the front of Caballero's vehicle. Caballero, whose vehicle was knocked into the southbound lane, was then struck head-on by a second vehicle driven by Brittanie Ann Kirchoff, 22, Hutsonville. Caballero was taken to Crawford Memorial Hospital by United Life Care Ambulance, and the other drivers and passengers were examined for injuries. Robinson Fire Department was called to the scene, and RPD was assisted by the Crawford County Sheriff's Department. Caballero was issued a citation for failure to yield. (Tom Compton photo)

City council looking at renewable-energy firm's proposal
New faces at last night's Robinson City Council meeting revealed some intriguing offers that could benefit the city.

First up was Jamie Goldenburg, an energy consultant from Bluestem Energy Solutions, Omaha, Neb., who spoke to the council about creating a renewable energy project.

Three hundred years of living memory was shared during a cracker barrel discussion at the Fife Opera House Sunday. Palestine Preservation Projects Society presented "Century of Memories," in which three local centenarians discussed their memories from 100 years of life.

Village curbs non-local soliciting
In the wake of numerous complaints, Palestine will not allow door-to-door selling and soliciting anymore, at least from non-local entities.

Police Chief Jeff Besing announced Tuesday that too many complaints from residents concerning harassment, unprofessional behavior and "pushy door to door solicitors have forced his hand.

RHS has nine make All-Little Illini teams
Nearly two handfuls of Robinson High School athletes were recognized for their exploits on the diamond this spring by being named to one of the All-Little Illini Conference teams announced recently.

Robinson had six baseball players named, along with three softball players, with six of those being First Team selections.

The selections were based on the players' statistics and performances in conference games only.

I am writing this letter to exercise my First Amendment rights and to express my Second Amendment rights position.

I just came from a meeting of the Eastern Illinois Sportsman's Club. I am, however, writing this letter to the editor for myself and not as an EISC member.
