Passing Fancy
Passing Fancy
A donkey basketball player at Friday's game at Robinson High School tries to hang on to her steed's reigns as she makes a pass. Robinson high school students, faculty and local community members competed at last week's event. The donkeys proved difficult for both teams as all the games were low scoring, but some fantastic shooting thrilled everyone who attended. (Blake Nash Photo)

Polling places mostly unchanged for Tuesday's primary
Most Crawford County voters will find their polling places in the same spots Tuesday as during last year's election.

The only change is in Honey Creek Precinct 1, where balloting will move from the Honey Creek Town House to the Flat Rock Community Center.

Tuesday, March 20, 2018

A lively, large crowd was on hand for last night's Robinson Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards Banquet, in which five individuals were recognized and rewarded for their services to the community.

Two incumbents face no challengers in Tuesday primary
Two local incumbents face no challenge in Tuesday's Republican primary and may again be unopposed in November.

Regional Superintendent of Schools Monte Newlin and Crawford County Treasurer Twyla Bailey are the only candidates seeking their positions in the primary. And unless the Democratic Party appoints someone to fill the vacancy on the Nov. 6 ballot later this year, their names will appear alone again then.

Vote is for communities' children

As community members who have always been interested and invested in the education of our community's children, these are some of the reasons we will be voting for consolidation on March 20:
• Thoughts in support of armed teachers
• One solution for school violence may be close to home
• 'Too much uncertainty' on consolidation
• Gun-crime solutions worth considering
