School holiday concerts begin Tuesday at HCC
'Tis the season for holiday school concerts.

In Robinson, Washington Elementary School second-graders start things off with a concert at Highland Church of Christ at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

The WES first grade Christmas program is 6 p.m. Thursday at HCC.

Robinson High School follows with its annual Fine Arts night at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

More concerts are planned for the coming weeks.

WES kindergartners will perform at HCC at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10.

Lincoln Elementary School will host its annual fifth grade band concert at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12.

Nuttall Middle School's annual concert is 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17.

The Oblong High School band and choir concert is 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, at the high school.

The Oblong junior high concert is 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 16, at Oblong Elementary School. Elementary concerts, featuring students in grades five and down, are 9 and 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, at OES.

The Hutsonville High School Christmas program is 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, while the elementary school concert is 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17.

Palestine High School will host a student art show at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18. It will be followed by the Palestine Unit 3 band concert at 6 p.m.

The Palestine Grade School Christmas program is 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19.

In the meantime, Santa will be making his appointed rounds here.

Palestine Chamber of Commerce will host Cocoa and Cookies with Santa at its office from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

Then on Sunday, the Indiana Rail Road Santa train will roll through Crawford County.

The train will stop on South Range in Oblong from 11:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. and on Lincoln Street in Palestine from 1:45 to 3:15 p.m.

The Oblong Boy Scouts annual Christmas in the Park Celebration is 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Oblong Park. The event will feature horse-drawn wagon rides around the park, a visit by Santa Claus, food, crafts, gifts and music.

The cost to ride around the park is one non-perishable food item, for the Oblong Food Pantry.

Food will be provided by the Scouts and pies by Liberty Ponies. For information call 562-1271 or 562-1273.

Santa will be at Kringle Korner taking Christmas requests from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday. He will also be in residence there 10 a.m. to noon Dec. 14 and 21 and 1 to 3 p.m. Dec. 15 and Dec. 22.
